Various tools



Here the zip 28 containing two psp images .
Image: 1lola on a flattened image.
Image: 2lapin with open layers, with 8 raster layers.

Open these 2 images on the desktop.
Duplicate these two images and close the originals.

Minimize the rabbit to the bottom of the desktop image.
In the exercises that follow, in tools options
we will not discuss the Step, Thickness and Rotation.
We know their effects because we have experienced them
in the previous lessons.
So they will be default: Step: 10, width: 100 and rotation: 0.
Of course, depending on your own work, you will decide
the configuration.
Also, to simplify we will use in the tool options the round shape.
But you can experiment with the square.

Select the image: lola.
Select the hand tool.
In styles and textures, set to black and white.

Select: the tool: Smudge Brush.

Example configurations.
Shape: round
Size: 75
Rigidity: 100
Step: 10

Thickness: 100

Use all layers: not checked

Move the cursor from inside the character outwards.
And the reverse.
See the result.

Select the blue arrow: Undo last command.
that is highlighted, to return to the original image.
Note: When the blue arrow is highlighted, it indicates that we have had
an effect on the layer.

Click this arrow button repeatedly to remove the highlight.


Another example: change this tool’s configurations.

The longer you rub the pointer on the form, the lines will soften more.

Select: the tool: saturation
This tool works with the left or right mouse buttons.
The effects are different.

Swap mouse buttons: not checked

Example with the left side of the mouse:
Move the cursor to the character and (or) on the background.
This makes the color more vibrant.

Example with the right side of the cursor
Move the cursor to the character and (or) on the background.
This changes the colors to grayscale tones.
Undo operations to return to the original image.

Select: the tool: hue
This tool works with the left or right mouse buttons.
The effects are different.

Swap mouse buttons: not checked
Move the cursor to the character and/or the background.
Alternate with the right or left sides of the mouse: you'll see a clear difference.

Reduce the “lola” to the bottom of the desktop image.

Select the image: rabbit.
Select the hand tool.
In styles and textures: set to black and white.

In the layers palette:
Select the layer: 1-body. ( 1-corps)
There are 4 forms
Layer 1-body has been painted with the color # 965f3a
In styles and textures, select a different color in the foreground and the background.
In the example in the foreground is the turquoise # 40ffff.
In  background is yellow # ffff40
OK

Select: the tool: change to target.

Mode: color.

Run the left side mouse button over one of the shapes on the layer
to change the color to turquoise.
And right side button to change the color to yellow.

We can in styles and textures, change colors any time.
Example by changing colors
Undo operations to return to the original image.

In the layers palette:
Select the layer: pink.
Depending on the chosen foreground or background colors,
we can change the color scheme of the entire form or a portion
of the pink shape by selecting left or right mouse button.

Example: Select Layer: background
Move the brush to change the background color.
The mouse button, left or right side.
Note: Colors are more pale than those selected. They are washed out.

Here we also have the ability to change the mode.
Example with mode: brightness that restores the color we already applied.
Note: Here the right or left plays the same role.
Undo operations to return to the original image.

Select the layer: 2-body.(2-corps)
Here we have 7 forms.
Layer 2-body has been painted with the color # da834a

Select the tool: replace color.
This effect is a more complicated, but gives wonderful results.

Shape: round

Step 10:
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Rotation 0:
Tolerance: 100

In styles and textures, choose gradient in the foreground.
Angle: 0
Repeat: 5
Style: linear.
OK

In the background, choose a solid color.
In the example is the Red base. # ff0000
OK

Important: with the right side of the cursor
Paint the chosen color shapes. Here it is red.

We could finish here.

With the left mouse button, make double-click on the shape.
We have the gradient.
Might have difficulty with double click.
It should be a double-tap close and brief.
Repeat if you don’t succeed the first time.


Go further...


Change the foreground for a pattern.
Example: Animal Zebra
Angle: 0
Scale: 50
OK

Do double right-clicking on the form.
There will be a zebra in red on the gradient pattern.

And why not!

Select the layer: background
In the background, choose a color, a gradient or another pattern.
In the example is a gradient.

Double right click on the background and see.
