The pif1 zip here
It contains the image pif1 in psp.
The image has 10 raster layers.
1 to 9 layers have a name and they are empty.
The 10 layer is the model.
Open the pif1 on the desktop.
Window: duplicate.
Close the pif1 image.
We are working on the copy.
Save the new psp image. Name it pif2.
Zoom in on the image to work more easily.
Select the hand tool.
In styles and textures: set on black and white.
Select the layer 10pif.
With the magic wand tool:
Options
Mode: replace
Match: color
Tolerance: 10
Contiguous: checked
Escalation: 0
Anti-aliasing: checked
Outside.
These configurations will remain the same for the whole lesson.
Make a click in the right.
We have a floating selection.
On the menu bar.
Selections/change/expand.
In the window: number of pixels: 1

Why do this?
Because the edge of the black shape contains semi-transparent pixels.
As we add a color, we expand the selection.
And the transparent pixels
of the black shape will be supported by the color we place below.
The selection is floating so we will move it to the layer: 1eau by
selecting the layer: 1eau.
In the foreground, choose a blue color for the water.

With the flood fill tool , fill the selected shape.
Selections/Select none.
It is possible that a few pixels have not been filled in.
They are found especially close to the angles.
Example here, close to the dorsal fin and within the mouth of the pif.
In this case with the zoom tool, zoom in 800 times.
We are still on the layer “1eau” .
With the brush tool:
Options
Form: square
Size: 1
Stiffness: 100
Step: 10
Width: 100
Rotation: 0
Opacity: 100
Mode: normal mixed.
Make a click of the same color and fill in the transparent pixels.
Important: check immediately for pixels to color for each layer.
Select the layer 10pif to make it active.
With the magic wand tool click on the sea bottom.
We have a floating selection.
Selections/change/enlarge.
In the window: number of pixels: 1
Since the selection is floating, we will carry it on to the layer 2fond.
Select the layer 2fond.
In foreground, choose a color for your sea bottom.

With the Flood Fill Tool fill the selected shape.
Selections/select none
With the brush tool, fill in the transparent pixels if needed.
Here I do not see any need.
Select the layer 10pif.
With the magic wand tool make a click in algae on the left.
We have a floating selection.
Selections/modify/enlarge.
In the window number of pixels: 1

With the floating selection, We will move on to the layer: 3algues.
Select the layer: 3algues.
In the foreground, choose a color for the algae.
Here I place a gradient of two hues of green.
Style: linear
Angle: 90
Repetitions: 1
Invert: checked (the pale green in the centre)

With the Flood Fill Tool, fill the selected shape.
Selections/Select none .
Select the layer 10pif.
Repeat for the other algae which is divided in two parts.
To select two forms (and more) at the same time,
push the SHIFT key
and then click in the upper algae
and then click in the bottom algae
without releasing the shift.
We have two floating selections.
Selections/change/enlarge 1.
Carry over the selection on the 3algues layer, by selecting
the layer 3algues.
With Flood Fill Tool, fill the two shapes.
Selections/Deselect.
With brush tool, fill in pixels with a matching color pixels if needed.
Complete all the shapes in the same way.

Image with effects in JPEG
It contains the pif2 image with 10 raster layers.
1 to 9 layers are filled.
The 10th layer is the model.
FOR the 1st IMAGE we will save as a JPEG.
You can fill out forms of color, gradient, and pattern.
Window: duplicate.
Close the pif2 and save the new copy image as pifjpeg.
In the layers palette:
Close the visibility of layer 10pif.
Select the layer 9bulles.
Right click on the layer and merge visible layers.
Rename that merged layer “fish” [poisson].
Open the visibility of layer 10pif.
We will change the color of the black line.
Select the layer 10pif.
Selections/select all.
Selections / floating.
Zoom in on the image.
Foreground. Choose a color or gradient of your choice.
Here I choose a gradient.

With the Flood Fill Tool fill the Interior of all black lines with the exception of the eye’s pupil.
The outline is still selected.
Right click on the layer: floating selection.
Transform the floating selection into a layer.
Selections/Select None
Rename the layer: nv [for New Outline]
Return the image to normal size.
Select the 10pif layer and delete it.
Select the layer nv.
In effect> 3d >drop shadow.
Vertical and horizontal: 1
Opacity: 40
Blur: 3.00
Shadow on the new layer: not checked.
Color: the dark in low color

Merge visible layers.
Rename the layer pif.
Several possibilities open to you in the effects of PSP.
Experiment.
For the lesson we'll use the effects/geometry/circle / mode transparent.
To this end, add another effect.

background color .
Add a raster layer and drag it below the picture.
Using the flood fill tool, fill it with the color of your choice.
To give more punch in the image and give it depth,
Select the pif layer.
Effect> 3d >Drop Shadow.
Vertical and horizontal offset: 3
Opacity: 60
Blur: 10.00
Color:
The color depends on the background color which you chose.
Here is dark basic blue.

Redo a different effect shadow worn by modifying only the vertical offset
and horizontal by entering:-1 to ensure that the shadow does not exceed the image.
If you want a wider, shadow you increase the size of the canvas.
View/Preview in a Web browser.
Select JPG.
Background color, the same color as your background.
(which we can collect with the color dropper)
Preview.
Here we see that the image compressed to 1: 149 KB.

Close the preview window.
Add a raster layer.
Select the text tool.
Click in the image.
In the window that opens, type your name.
Highlight your name, it should be blue.
In the options, choose the font and size.
Choose Floating.
Foreground: closed.
For the background, choose a color. Here it is white.
Apply.
Position the cursor on your name.
When you see 4 opposite, arrows select and move your name.
Selections/Select none.
(1) Save the image in psp.
(2) File, export the JPEG image and give it a name.

The image animation. GIF
FOR THE SECOND IMAGE WE WILL DO AN ANIMATION.
This will be a GIF.
The GIF poorly tolerates gradients and patterns.
Use gradients for small areas only. No patterns.
Open your pif2 picture that has the black outlines filled with color.
Duplicate pif2 and save the new image with the name: pa (for animation)
Close the original pif2.
Merge the visible layers in the new pa image.
Right click on the merged layer.
Duplicate the layer 3 times.
We have therefore 4 layers.
To make it easier to find them, rename the layers 1,2,3,4, starting from the bottom.
Close the visibility of the 4,3,2 layers.
Select layer 1.
Effects/distortion/Waves.
Horizontal Displacement:
Amplitude 1, Wavelength 15
Vertical Displacement:

Open Jasc animation shop.
Select file.
Find your image: “pa” and open it.
Select the icon: view animation.
Here the movement is too fast.
We have 2 Windows open: the frame window and the animation.
Select the window of the frames.
Select: Edit/ Select all
Select animation frames properties.
Type 20.
OK
Now, check the animation again.
Select the animation.
Select file/save as.
Name the animation: an_pif and save in your folder.
Check your animation in your email software.
Here the animation is 218 KB which is very reasonable!
and send to friends.

How to remove the white on an image.
You could take a coloring found on the Web.
The images will be on a merged image.
Here is an image of auto taken from this site:

After download open in psp.
Here the image is 519 by 822.
First, make a right rotation.
As it too large, we will resize the image.
Image/Resize.
In Setup Advanced:
Resample using Smart Size:
Locked proportions: checked
Resize all layers: a check mark
Dimensions in pixels. Type in width 400. Or the size you want.
The height will automatically adjust.

In the layers palette:
Right click on the layer, and promote background layer to raster layer.
The layer must be promoted: raster 1 to remove the white.
With the magic wand tool:
Mode: replace
Match mode: color
Tolerance: 0
Sample merged: checked
Feathering: 0 A
Anti-aliasing: checked
Outside
With the wand, make a click outside the shape.
Edit/cut
Selection / Select none
While holding the shift key down, with the magic wand click in all white
parts of the image.
Edit/cut

There is a filter which
is called: “Eliminate White” which allows you to
remove the white one fell swoop.
The Eliminate White
Once the Filter is installed, open the image, do the rotation, change the
dimension. (as above) and promote to a raster layer.
The layer must be named: raster 1.
Effect, find eliminate white and select. ! ;))
